BBCE (Broad-Based Categorical Eligibility)

A state option that relaxes SNAP's asset and gross-income limits.

Under Broad-Based Categorical Eligibility, most states confer SNAP categorical eligibility through a TANF-funded benefit, letting them raise the gross income limit (up to 200% of poverty) and waive the asset test. Whether your state uses BBCE changes which tests apply to your household.
